Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a student to assist in thermal vacuum and space simulation activities as an Engineering Assistant. The selected candidate will play a critical role in helping manage thermal vacuum operations, chamber cleanliness and performance tasks, and report generation.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a Utah State University student majoring in science or engineering
- Must have at least one year of school remaining
- Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week during semesters and 30-40 hours per week during the summer
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to follow directions
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a time sensitive environment while managing multiple tasks and projects
- Demonstrated curiosity
- Must be an active learner
- General background in math and physics
- Experience working in a laboratory setting using PPE and following procedures
- Experience with and proficiency using Excel to generate graphs and manipulate data
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Must have the ability to work effectively independently
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or other U.S. person
- Sophomore level or higher
